The Department of International Studies, Political Science and History in collaboration with CAPS organised a session on professional email writing for first year HEP on 24th August 2021.The session was attended by 90 students and the session was handled by Divya Sharma.
The students were made aware of the LEAF rule where - L means Lead; E means Explanation/Elaboration; A means Action; and, F means finish. A Lead should always be provided regarding an email that is sent so that the receiver is not caught off-guard. An email should be extremely specific, topic-oriented, polite and positive. If any action is needed to be taken, it should be made clear to the receiver through the sent e-mail. An e-mail should also start and end with proper salutations. The students were given various examples which made the class extremely interactive. The class was successful in its attempt at making students learn the proper format of writing a professional email.
